Big Comedy Workshop

A thousand people were asked what they feared most in life, the biggest answer was public speaking, and the second most common answer was death.

Come on it’s really not that bad! Yes I agree the thought of standing there with three hundred people staring right at you alone on a stage with only a microphone to keep you company does sound very daunting, well don’t worry because by the time you reach that stage you will know exactly what you are going to say and how you are going to say it, you will know how to stand, how to breath and most of all you will know how to make people laugh and trust me they will!!

What better way to raise money than by raising a smile, Claire House Children’s Hospice and Big Comedy have joined forces to put this unique opportunity together. Ten individuals will be asked to take part in a six week comedy workshop culminating in a showcase at the Ramada Plaza Hotel on the 27th October as part of the Southport Comedy Festival 2013.

Tutored by professional comedian Brendan Riley who has over twenty years’ experience behind him, he will pass on all of the skills and techniques needed to write and perform a comedy routine.

In six weeks you will learn

Joke Development

Creative writing

Stagecraft

Mic Technique

Memory skills

Comedy timing

Dealing with nerves

Dealing with the dreaded heckler

This will be the ultimate challenge and a brilliant way to help to raise money for a fantastic charity!
