From Monday 26 December 2022 to Saturday 7 January 2023, all collections by the Joint Waste Service will be made one day later than usual with no collections on Monday 26 December or Monday 2 January.

Bins which would have been collected on Monday 26 December will be collected on Tuesday 27 December and those which would have been collected on Tuesday 27 December will be collected on Wednesday 28 December and so on.

Friday collections within this period - 30 December and 6 January - will be picked up on Saturday, 31 December and 7 January respectively.

Recycling bins and bags may be collected at different times during the day over the Christmas and New Year period.

Collection days will return to normal on Monday 9 January 2023

Lichfield District Council’s Cabinet Member for Waste and Recycling, Councillor Elizabeth Little, said: “We are changing the bin collection days so that our teams can ensure that waste is collected in a timely way and isn’t left uncollected for a long period of time.

“Residents’ bins will be emptied one day later than normal over the festive period with collections returning to normal in the new year.

“We would also like to remind them that garden waste collections are paused from 16 December 2022 until 30 January 2023."

“On behalf of the Waste and Recycling team I would like to wish all residents a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.”
