Lichfield Real Ale, Jazz & Blues Festival June 23rd-26th

If you enjoy Big Bands, Boogie Woogie,Blues,Funk Be-Bop, Dynamic Vocals, Township Jazz, Hammond Organs, Fantastic Drummers and Pianists and hot Jump and Jive plus a choice of over 30 Real Ales and fine food then this is the festival for you to enjoy.
Organised by Lichfield Arts it will feature some of the top and most original musicians on the British Jazz & Blues scene.
It starts on Thursday 23rd June with the Big Band sounds of the young and talented Lichfield and Rugeley Jazz Orchestra followed by the awesome brass of Walsall Jazz Orchestra.
The following evening Friday will see rocking blues and Boogie woogie from Steve’Big Man’Clayton.
No less than five bands will perform on Saturday 25th Starting will be the funky folk sound of Tim Amann Xtet, followed by the electric blues of Steve Ajao Blues Giants, Dynamic pianist/vocalist and amazing performer Ian Shaw follows before the Jay Phelps Quintet present some fine swing and hard hitting Be-Bop.
To finish off the day the band who almost blew the fuse at last year’s Fuse Chimanimani will have everyone up and dancing to their township jazz.
Sunday 26th June has four trio’s all completely different Asaf Sirkis & the Inner Noise starts off with his fusion music to be followed by superb trumpeter Steve Waterman with big Double Bass and vibraphone. Pianist John Law follows with superb renditions of classic jazz standards .The Hammond organ trio of Nigel Price follows with wonderful swinging jazz. Local favourites King Pleasure & the Biscuit Boys end the festival with their barnstorming Jump and Jive.
With plenty of free parking, camping or caravans, showers and fine food and a wonderful selection of Real Ales this will be a very relaxing week-end.
