Have you received a letter from Lichfield District Council asking you to register to vote or for information about who lives at your property? If you have not responded, you need to and ASAP!
Canvassers will be visiting homes in Lichfield and Burntwood between October 27 and November 17 to make sure that those who want to have their say at the next set of elections can do. It is only by registering that you will be able to vote in next year’s parliamentary and local elections.
The council is warning people who do not respond that they could lose their right to a postal vote, cause damage to their credit score (which means you cannot get a mortgage, loan or mobile phone contract) and in some cases be fined for not registering.
