If you are looking for a fantastic instructor, then look no further. You absolutely will not find a better one than Andy. After having lessons 20 years ago (and failing a test!) I thought i would probably never try again but after being convinced by my other half to give it another go, I searched for a local instructor and based on the testmonials gave Andy a ring....I am so glad I did! From day 1, Andy made me feel totally relaxed, His sense of humour and calm patient nature make him a perfect instructor, by the time i had completed a few lessons i felt like Andy was a friend who i had known forever, I could not recommend him highly enough and I will really miss my lessons (i will even miss the terrible jokes! - Sorry Andy but they were!) I also really appreciated how flexible Andy was with lesson days/times - being a busy mum of 2 and working full time, lessons were not always that easy to shoe horn in but Andy was always really accomodating. Thank you so much for making my lessons so enjoyable and obviously for getting me through my test on the first attempt (with you!) x
Andy's Driving School is the best. He doesn't just teach you how to pass your test, but actually how to drive afterwards! I will really miss laughing at his seriously cheesy jokes and getting the free kitkats when I did well. You spend all of the lesson driving and if you feel confident about a manoeuvre, Andy won't make you do it a thousand more times! Hope to see you soon Andy for motorway lessons or pass plus! :)
What a funny guy, and he can teach you to drive too! I loved the random texts, mirror, signal and manoevre! There was no way I was going to forget doing that. He is the best driving instructor I could have had with his patience, humour (?), thorough instruction and peculiar rhyming play on words and which paid off as I passed my test with zero faults!! I would recommend him to all my friends as he is WICKED! Looking forward to doing pass plus - I'm telling the jokes though!
I decided that I wanted Andy as my driving instructor as I had already met him previously and felt totally comfortable with him, and I certainly made the right choice. He has a great personality, the lessons were very reasonable and I looked forward to every single one as he made driving lessons a very enjoyable experience. If you are looking for a driving instructor, please give Andy a try, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone, young or old. P.S. I passed my test on Friday 13th April, first time with two minors.
Just passed my test with only 4 minor faults thanks to Andy!He's taught me so much in the past 14 weeks! and I'm so grateful! Andy is the best around. With only about 15 lessons, and no other practice or experience, he took me from complete learner to fully licensed driver. I recently passed the practical first try, with only 2 minor faults overall. His teaching style, attitude to getting the most out of each lesson by driving (not just reading books), and ability/knowledge, make him a superb instructor who I would recommend to anyone.The car he currently has is also easy to drive, has excellent visibilty, and is very comfortable.Don't be fooled by other driving instructors offering cheap as chips lessons - you get everything you could want from driving lessons if you go with Andy. They are worth every penny.
Andy was an excellent teacher for me, he made me feel comfortable and relaxed, and I enjoyed every lesson with him.Without his help I wouldn't have passed my test first time, and my brother definitely wouldn't have either!
I was reccommended to Andy via Louie at the best of Lichfield. I am very grateful as Andy made my driving lessons fun and we also found interesting conversation particulary about football. I passed my test on Friday first time and with less than four months of lessons with Andy. He is very truthful and helpful and is only interested in getting you through your test he will even tell you if you don't need anymore lessons. I hadn't had a driving lesson for 8 years as gave it up as a bad job but after much prompting from the hubby i decided to give it another go.Ii came on here and read the testimonials of Andy and rang him then and there. so glad I did as he is a lovely person with much patience and encouragement. andy really boosted my confidence and made me feel like I could actually pass and be a confident driver. he also had a very good sense of humour and we got along great so learning to drive wasn't a chore this time. Passed on the 10th jan thanks to andy and now there's no stopping me.I recommend Andy to anyone. young or old.
Andy is my second instructor and after reading his testimonials I knew that he was going to be a great instructor unlike my last one, Andy has taught me more in 2 lessons than my last instructor did in 26! He explains things so clearly and makes everything that I used to find difficult seem really easy. I was recommended to Andy (by Louie via the best of ..) for my daughter and he didn't disappoint.She had put in for her driving test and hadn't had an instructor for a long time so we needed someone to help her get up to the required standard .... and he only had 1 week to do so!!! Andy made himself available and taught her more in a week than her previous instructor had in 20 or so lessons!! AND he made it a fun experience for her. She passed her test this morning and I am so grateful to Andy and his helpfulness and generosity and Andy I just want to say thank you so much for your time and your humour.If you hadn't put my daughter at ease I reckon she would have failed her test.I shall recommend you to anybody who wants to learn to drive as I think you actually ARE the best driving instructor in the Lichfield area.
My driving lessons with Andy have been amazing, every lesson it has been great fun and a great laugh! Andy doesn't teach for the money, he teaches for the fun and for the pupils. First of all I’d like to say a big thank you to Andy, for his support with my driving lessons. After being with a previous instructor, I ended up wasting a lot of time and money on lessons that I did not need. However after a mate of mine recommended Andy to me I booked my test within a matter of weeks and passed first time with only two minor faults. This comes down to Andy as he is a brilliant instructor, when learning to drive with Andy, there is no messing around and the quality of tuition is very high. I'd like to recommend anyone who is looking for a new Driving Instructor, (whether it be, to touch up on your skills or to learn from scratch) to learn from and use the expertise of Andy, who is anything but your typical Driving Instructor. In my opinion he has a very mature, responsible yet has a laid back approach to teaching. He is a genuinely nice guy with a reputation of being very, very reliable. This is someone who will literally bend over backwards to accommodate your needs. Thanks again Andy :)

Well were do i start... some years ago i took driving lessons and took a test and failed, i new then i was not ready for it, but my instructor said i was and guess what i failed, it really put me of learning to drive again, and never thought i would, as im a nervous and not so confident person.But now at the tender age of 39 and moving to a new area i decided the time was to start again, after looking at most of the driving schools around i came across Andy and after ready is testimons i thought he sounded the right person to learn me, From day 1 he put me at ease help me feel i can do this, he gave me confidence, support, and best of all is relaxed but professional lessons, what ever i felt i didnt feel comfortable with we went over and over again until i did it at ease, he never pressured me on anything his main thing is I felt comfortable and was he happy to do what i wanted to do. He has worked so hard with me over this last couple of weeks supporting me when i thought i cant do this. And today i have passed my test !! The main thing i wanna say is i think it is hard to find a right instructor, there are so many about, but i can asure anyone Andy is the best by far !! i shall miss my lessons with him so much, It was a joy each time, the only thing i have bad to say is.. is jokes they are that bad they made me laugh lol (only joking Andy lol). Last thing is Andy thankyou soooooo much for your time and support, on getting me through today and i see you soon for my pass plus.
After previously trying to learn to drive, but not feeling comfortable with my first driving instructor, a friend gave me Andy's number, and within 10 weeks id passed. He supplies you with confidence in your own ability and helps you improve in areas lacking. Best of all, lessons are easy going and Andy as an endless supply of very politically correct jokes. Where do I start? ...Andy's Driving School was nothing but absolutely fantastic from my first ever lesson right up until the day of my practical test when I passed first time. I would not of got where I am today without Andy. He is so professional, bubbly, energetic, lively, smart, friendly, polite, wise, reliable, funny, and caring and just a lovely instructor and it was a privilege to be taught by Andy. The costs were very reasonable and now I have passed, I would like to thank Andy very much for getting me to where i needed to be in able to pass. I do not have a bad word to say about Andy or his business but what I will say is that if you want to be taught by the best, go with Andy. In my eyes, no one can compare to be honest. I could not have asked for more. He is exquisite at what he does in his profession. Sorry it's took so long to get on and do it but after the new found freedom i've had driving i haven't found chance. I'd held a provisional license for about 7years and had a terrible first driving instructor who didnt know that he had to leave the pedals to me, then i had another few with a 'nameless' national driving school who weren't interested in teaching only in taking money. Then i found Andy and as soon as i got in his car i relaxed and found it easier to concentrate on driving than with previous instructors, after a few lessons it was like i had been driving for ages and i liked the laid back approach to his teaching (although sorry Andy you need a new joke book) and after a couple of months tuition i took my test and passed first time so seriously having tried the rest i passed with the best, try it yourselves and find out. Cheers Andy for turning me into my fiance's personal chauffeur.
Having known Andy for many years I thought it would be a good idea to have him for driving lessons and it turns out I made the right choice. Andy's laid back approach to teaching puts you at ease for the first few lessons, helping you gain in confidence. His methods enabled me to quickly pick up general driving and all the relevant maneuvers in plenty of time for my test. I am really pleased I had Andy as my instructor and will definitely miss his lessons. Thank you so much for getting me through my driving test. I was very nervous when i started, but you made it seem so easy. My lessons were always a laugh, to pass 1st time was beyond my wildest dreams but you made it possible. If anyone asks me who to have as a driving instructor i would always say you. Andy is actually the best, and i'm gonna miss him and his questionable quality jokes (hehe) when I go out on my own. He never got angry and always made me feel safe and at ease. I passed first time (the 8th out of 8 this year to pass) with only 3 minors. He never makes you feel stupid, no matter how silly the mistake is that youre making, he always reassures you and he really cares about you. He is a brilliant instructor and a brilliant guy too, never a dull moment. I would reccomend him to everyone. Youll never dread a lesson with him, itll never seem like a chore, and you always feel like youve improved one heck of a lot after every lesson. So thank you Andy for everything!

Andy's lessons were fun. He always has a joke... or 10 to tell, and will put you at ease when your in the car, i was nervous before my first lesson, but he took away the nerves straight away. He doesnt get angry when you make stupid mistakes, but uses them to make you a more compitant driver, he doesnt only teach you how to get through your test.. but teaches you to DRIVE. I passed my test first time, and he is now a good friend of mine, i miss having my driving lessons every week. I recommended andy to all of my friends, and would recommend him to anyone, his calm teaching style and sometimes poor jokes make him a superb teacher, and if i had to choose again, it would be andy everytime.Thanks andy!

It's been great fun having Andy as a driving instructor, I couldn't have wished for a more understanding person to help me learn to drive. I was doing well fairly quickly and I felt that Andy's teaching style suited me perfectly. Although my confidence caused a few problems preventing me from passing straight away I don't think I could have tried again without Andy's help. He's a fantastic instructor and now that I have done my Pass Plus it's strange not to have lessons each week and I will definitely miss those bad jokes. Thanks for everything Andy, you've been great!
I really miss having my driving lessons. I hate to admit it but I even miss your cheesy jokes Andy! Driving lessons with Andy were a lot of fun. He never once got angry over my mistakes and was always patient. If I was nervous, he'd tell particularly bad jokes to help me relax and keep helping me out until I finally got it. Andy always lets you judge your driving rather than being condescending like other instructors. For example he will ask you if you want to do that situation again now or try later and try something else in the meantime. I could not be happier with the driving experience I received with Andy, his car is easy to drive and you always get your full time (sometimes more if needed) and a friendly calm atmosphere. If you want to learn the easiest way to get the best results with as little stress as possible, Andy is your man.
Andy's Driving School does what it says on the tin! He passes you quickly and with confidence, and without dragging extra lessons out of you (he passed me first time after only 10 lessons. I enjoyed my lessons with him that much that I often didn't realise we went overtime "just to perfect that manouvre". It's things like that that make you realise he really does care about you passing, you're not just another statistic to him. Andy is a good laugh and an even better driving instructor! Andy is a really nice guy who will never try to rob you by arranging lessons you donʼt need. Camilla HaywoodIt was my 17th birthday, and I was desperate to drive! The option of a 1 week intensive course seemed a bit daunting, as i wanted to learn safely and be able to feel in control and confident whilst driving, so i decided to learn with weekly lessons. With Andy i was able to have 2 sometimes 3 hours a week of driving lessons, and they were so fun and enjoyable i was just as excited for every lesson as i was for the first( wich was in my actual birthday). Andys a real laugh, and you get every minutes worth of your lesson. I never felt like i was being cheated and taught anything i already knew, but every new hurdle was taught so that that i was confident and knew exactly what i was doing. Andys always really relaxed and understanding, aswell as thinking himself as a good joke teller( hmmm :S) His patience is unbelievable, and hes really honest in telling how well your doing. I was sooo happy when i passed my test! First time i might say, and with only 1 minor! :D and i am very thankful to everything Andy did to help me because i dont think i could have learnt everything so thoroughly and in such a short space of time( 2 months and 19 days) and still love driving as much as i do now. So thankyou sooo much! I would honestly recomend Andy to anybody, whether you want to learn super quickly, or feel nervous about driving, because Andys calm temprement is perfect for a driving instructor!
Andyʼs driving school is, in my opinion, the best around; this is due to the fact that he is a fantastic guy first and foremost who is willing to teach anyone. My experience of him is completely positive, i honestly cannot think of any negative points regrading him. Andy will give you the teaching you need to pass your test, but what makes him different is he will ensure that you enjoy yourself whilst learning; this means that you will learn better and more quickly as you always perform better in things that you have fun in. When i reached the age of 38 iʼd given up the hope of ever learning to drive. Iʼd had two attempts earlier in life but never felt in control so i gave up. Then someone brought me a block of lessons as a gift. It took me six months to pluck up the courage to contact the driving school as i was so nervous about it. I remember my first lesson well. I was so nervous and scared but Andy was wonderful and put me at ease after about 30 minutes. He even made me laugh with some really terrible jokes. Over the next few weeks i was still really nervous but slowly, slowly i beagn to actually DRIVE!!! Andy was kind and patient and really listened to my concerns. He never made me feel stupid and always kept a calm level head even when i did something mega stupid (and that was quite often in the early days). Iʼm not a natural driver and found lots of the manoeuvres hard but Andy had loads of different ways to show or explain things to me and nothing was ever to much trouble. He encouraged me all the way and in January this year i passed my test (first time). I donʼt think i could of done this without Andy and i will always be grateful to him for his understanding and patience. Thanks Andy your a star x
