The Stroke Comedy Club to get you in the Christmas mood
Following sell out shows with multi award winning comic Rhod Gilbert and Peep Show’s Isy Suttie, Lichfield’s premier comedy club is opening its doors for a special Christmas show to help punters beat the winter blues with four brilliant comedians.
Headlining on 22nd December is the energetic and very likeable Gerry K. With his anecdotal, observational and refreshingly honest material he both charms and entertains his audiences. Cutting neatly between storytelling and one-liners, each joke always lands on a strong punch line.
Supporting is musical character comedian Loretta Maine. Her out-of-control, American singer-songwriter alto ego character is fascinating. Singing wickedly lyrical rhymes, as she tells of her serious drink problem, she shows brief glimmers of her vulnerability. A truly unique and captivating act
Joining them, Dan Bland will bring a touch of darkness to the show. His morbidly deadpan disposition owes more to a grumpy undertaker than a genial stand-up comedian. But that funereal façade belies a devilish comic mind that has beguiled countless audiences. Delivering explosive one-liners with razor-sharp precision, deadpan Dan unfailingly ensures that he is the only person in the room able to keep a straight face.
MC for the evening is the bubbly and welcoming Carly Smallman, who recently appeared on the Rob Brydon show, and has a number of Edinburgh fringe shows to her name.
The show promises to be a laugh a minute, as always.
