During our stay in Lichfield we decided to take a tour of the Cathedral. Admission was £5 per person for the guided tour.
Our guide was a very friendly and knowledgeable gentleman called Lester. It was a very interesting experience and the tour was about 45 minutes to an hour. After we looked round the gift shop where we found some beautiful items and I can recommend the shortbread that comes in a lovely gift tin. I would go again on my next visit to Lichfield.

I ate here on Monday. Returned today. We sat down at a table that was reserved! There was no card or sign to say that officially the table was reserved.
My friend went to order and staff came to the table to tell me it was reserved. The fact that there were knives and forks and serviettes on the table indicated a reservation!
My opinion is something more obvious should be in place!!!

I do not live in Lichfield but do visit Lichfield regularly to visit family. Following the 'Tower Tour' I feel a closer connection with the history of the Cathedral and City. This was due to the expert knowledge of our guides.
What a privilege to see views across Lichfield and surrounding countryside from the top of the Tower and also to see behind 'The scenes' of the Cathedral. To marvel at the craftsmanship of the building and to see the marks of the highly skilled craftsmen from centuries ago.
Age is no barrier to the tour. Our party went from ten years old to seventy. The oldest member (me) also has a fear of heights. No problem, thanks to our wonderful guides who gave such clear instructions on how to navigate the route and I trusted them implicitly. All three were wonderful. Thank you for a memorable experience.

What a fabulous way to spend a sunny September afternoon on the Lichfield Cathedral Tower Tour. Our delightful guide Scarlett was so knowledgable about the Cathedral, the history and Lichfield itself. We have lived in Lichfield all our lives and we still learnt a lot! It was fascinating to see the stone masons markings on the tower walls, as well as the graffiti left by the night watchmen as they looked out for enemy planes during the war. The views across Lichfield and the surrounding area are stunning. A thoroughly enjoyable afternoon. Thank you to Scarlett, and to David for making sure no one was left behind!
