Lewisham Borough's Tip, which is also called the Reuse and Recycling centre can be found at Landmann Way in Deptford. It is open everyday of the week, even bank holidays. Although weekends are really busy and the recommendation is that you get there early at weekends. A more detailed list is shown, some of the items accepted fridges, freezers, car batteries, electrical items, light bulbs, TVs and monitors, etc.

Opening hours

Spring/Summer: 1 April–30 September

Everyday excluding Saturday 8am-7pm (last vans 6:30pm and last cars 6:50pm)

Saturday 8am-12noon (last vans 11:30am and last cars 11:50am)

Autumn/Winter: 1 October–31 March

Everyday excluding Saturday 8am-4pm (last vans 3:30pm and last cars 3:50pm)

Saturday 8am-12noon (last vans 11:30am and last cars 11:50am)

Closed 25, 26 December and 1 January

  • all light bulbs
  • plastic bottles
  • car batteries
  • TVs and monitors
  • used cooking oil
  • garden waste and wood
  • fridges and freezers
  • bulky household items

Large electrical goods such as TVs, fridges and freezers will be counted and recorded, with a form completed by the resident. Please ensure all units are clear of any content. 

Trade waste is not allowed, including waste removed by private contractor on behalf of a resident. Neither are accept soil and stones accepted. Whilst every effort is made to accept as much and varied waste types as possible, the site is licensed by the Environment Agency and has to work within laid down parameters. 

'Man and van' vehicles are not allowed, even when hired by a resident. Any waste transported in this matter is classed as trade waste, because it is being dealt with on a hire and reward basis.

ID and proof of address

Because they have to ensure only Lewisham residents use the facility you will need to provide both proof of identity and proof of residence.

Documents that provide both proof of ID and proof of address:

  • Photo driving licence
  • Blue badge parking permit
