Amazing in every way! staff are so welcoming and the food is truly fabulous. My favourite restuarant in this region of south east london. Calamari is delicious, as are all of the meals I have eaten so far.

I recently visited Le Querce in Brockley Rise, thanks to the recommendation of owners of an Italian deli in the area. My meal in August was excellent and my friends also enjoyed their meal. I have lived for periods of time in Italy and am very fussy about Italian food and therefore hard to please. I also took some other friends to Le Querce, both being gourmands and advocates of the Slow Food Guide, and they can't wait to revisit when they are back in England.
Le Querce have recently opened in Blackheath, which is a perfect venue for me. The area needs a genuine Italian restaurant and the menu is certainly that. I have already visited four times since their opening and the food and service are outstanding. I took a friend to lunch there recently and she requires a gluten free diet. The restaurant could not have been more helpful in ensuring that the pasta and bruschetta where gluten free, plus they were very accommodating in some small changes we requested to one of our meals.
All in all a very welcome addition to the restaurants in Blackheath and one that really has an Italian (Sardinian) menu.

I absolutely agree with the above. A lovely, friendly little restaurant that creates truly superb food at very reasonable prices. Weʼve been twice in 2 weeks and recommended it to everyone we know in the area who loves good food. The pasta is perfect and fish dishes taste like you would expect in the mediterranean. A few slices of their home-made bread is popped on the table as you peruse the menu (and daily specials); itʼs so tasty and irresistible it needs nothing on it and makes life even more difficult for those of us who are ʼtrying to be carefulʼ. Try to make room for a dessert; weʼve sampled the ice cream and the organic lemon tart (tangy with fine shreds of caramelized lemon zest) and were shown the amazing ricotta cheese cake. Everything, from the bread to the ice cream is made on the premises. There was a steady flow of custom so it looks like the word may be getting around. They deserve every success and we are fortunate to have such great restaurant in Forest Hill.

In these days of food mass production and chain restaurants, finding a place where joy and care are placed both in the food and in the service is a rarity. Walking into this restaurant it is like walking into the proprietorsʼ own home: we are truly made welcome in a relaxed, comfortable, unassuming, cosy environment. The food is fresh, delicious, creative and fairly priced, with new dishes regularly on the specials menu. The chef is more like an artisan-artist, if you pop in during the afternoon, you can see him hand making individually the ravioli. My favourite dish is the polenta, which is the best I have ever tasted (... I grew up on polenta, as my Italian grandmother was from the Venice area and that is the staple food there), there is a beautiful mix between traditional and innovative food, and the presentation is exquisite. If you visit you will realize that this restaurant is also a rendez-vous place for friends, groups and artists (Look for the Rolf Harris original drawing on the wall.... yes, he has really had a meal there! and the interesting art work from local artists dotted around the place). I recommend it as a community conscious finger licking taste buds satisfying feel good place. Check it out ......

Le Querce is a real gem in this area - at last, an Italian Restaurant serving reasonably priced authentic Italian food. Everything is fresh and well prepared, with flavoursome, interesting specials and real care taken over everything. From the unpretentious main restaurant - a fairly small room simply furnished- you can catch glimpses of whatʼs cooking and sample the freshly made bread whilst you wait for your meal. The restaurant owned and run by a Sardinian family and the service is friendly and informative. Iʼve found the fish dishes especially delicious and they make an eclectic assortment of ice creams including aubergine, parsley and rose. Of course, the pasta dishes are good and the pizzas (not available every day) have the lightest crisp bases. I have recommended Le Querce to lots of friends and everyone has enjoyed their meals. Tasty and unfussy, this is great food and great value.
