Contemorary and Traditional Crafts

The Sussex Guild is a group of professional designers and makers of fine contemporary and traditional craftwork.  Members live and work in Sussex and the adjoining counties of Kent, Surrey and Hampshire, and have been selected for their high degree of skill and creativity.

Although the Sussex Guild has changed and grown over the years, we continue to be an autonomous, self-help organisation and our aim is to promote and sell our work together.

The Guild aims to inspire and encourage public appreciation of fine craftsmanship by organising shows and exhibitions in a wide variety of venues.

Visitors to these events enjoy learning about the crafts they see on display for they can discuss with the makers themselves the design process, the techniques, tools and craft materials used.

Exhibitors are always willing to talk about their work. Craft pieces can be bought at the shows or specially commissioned.

Many craft fairs and craft exhibitions are currently available to the public but we believe that the high quality of the craft work on display, the relaxed atmosphere and the friendliness of the exhibitors make our Sussex Guild events very special indeed.

Guild Shop:

The designer/makers of The Sussex Guild are delighted to have opened their own Guild shop in the lovely county town of Lewes.

The excellent crafts on display and for sale includes: Jewellery, Furniture, Printmaking, Ceramics, Metalwork, Letter-cutting, Batik and Textile Arts.

There is metered parking on the road and the car park at Lewes Railway station is just a short walk away.

The Guild shop is open every day from 10am – 5pm.
