The Raystede Centre
There are plenty of things to do whatever the weather at The Raystede Centre, in Ringmer a few miles from Lewes.
The Centre was founded in 1952 by Miss Raymonde-Hawkins to prevent and relieve cruelty to animals and to protect them from unnecessary suffering.
Every year 1500 unwanted and abandoned animals arrive at Raystede.
There over 1000 animals enjoying a happy life here, including horses, donkeys, goats, sheep, rabbits, guinea pigs, chinchillas, chipmunks, pet rats, mice, hamsters, gerbils, tortoises, terrapins, and many different exotic birds.
The Raystede Centre is a great day out and attraction for the whole family.
We have a sanctuary with several lakes for ducks, geese and moorhens.
Spend a relaxing afternoon visiting the Wildlife in our sanctuary and enjoy some beautiful walks and family picnics in our beautiful grounds.
Film shows and pictures can be seen in the visitor centre, and a gift shop full of little surprises.
