LEIGHTON-LINSLADE CARNIVAL, now one of the town's foremost events, takes place on Saturday 11th July and promises to be another day of outstanding entertainment. Last year 10,000 people enjoyed a spectacular day and this year the carnival promises to be even bigger and better!
For 2009 there will be a glittering carnival parade, an arena with back-to-back entertainment, a tea tent, music, a fairground and much more - in fact something for all the family!
The parade starts at Cedars Upper School in Linslade (Mentmore Road) at 12pm with a dazzling array of decorated floats and magnificently costumed walkers, music and street art.
The event kicks off at Parsons Close (the park next to All Saints church) at 2pm, with a fantastic programme. More information available soon!
We always have had a wonderful response from the local community. Once again we are encouraging involvement from as many community groups and individuals as possible.
Here's some ways to get involved:
- Be part of the parade. The theme this year is Musicals. You can walk, cycle, skate or get in contact with S and J Pierce for a lorry and decorate it.
- You can walk, cycle, skate or why not ride on a float. Getting a float couldn't be easier just contact S and J Pierce. Who will be happy to help! (don't forget your decorations!)
- Run a stall - Raising funds for your organisation couldn't be easier. We are looking for exciting ideas that make for a diverse and interesting time.
