Menphys is a Leicester based charity giving support to young mentally and phisically disabled people and their families in and around Leicestershire
Menphys is Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutlands leading charity, supporting children and young people with a wide range of physical, mental and learning disabilities, including those with complex long term health conditions .
Founded in 1969 as a Saturday morning playgroup, Menphys today provides education, care and support to over 1,000 children and their families, through specialist Nurseries for severely disabled children aged 2-5 based in Wigston and Burbage, a facility for children with Autism, Saturday morning clubs and a Special Outreach Service (SOS) supporting over 800 disabled children and their families in their homes.
Menphys SOS aim is to empower disabled children and young people, through education, sport, play and leisure activities. Menphys also provides family and early years support through access to respite breaks, child minding networks, training, and emotional and practical support.
Menphys needs £500,000 every year to maintain and develop our services, and relies on support from individuals and companies to help reach this target.
