Steve and I just wanted to let you know that, despite the Devonshire weather trying to turn us into human ducks, we thoroughly enjoyed our two week long stay at your lovely site. As you know we had the 'Blair Witch' pitch and had a fab time. The trees kept us sheltered from the worst of the weather as well, which was good - because as you know, we had a lot of weather! Most of it wind and rain but hey, who cares when you're in the middle of a glade surrounded by oak trees and can just sit and watch the world go by. It is a beautiful site, very natural and well kept. I loved just standing and watching the rabbits in the morning, as well as sitting in our tent and watching the robins and blackbirds in our little private world, although I missed the woodpeckers (just my luck). The birds both sang us to sleep at night and sang to wake us up again in the morning. It took us a little while to get used to the eco-loos but that's just the city dwellers in us, once we had figured it out it became a bit of a standing joke between us. They are a brilliant idea and I like the thought that we're helping the environment. Everything is kept spotlessly clean and ready for use and you (or your wife) were always available to chat or help out if we needed it. It is also the little helpful things that you provide too which makes it a holiday with a difference; such as freezing blocks to borrow, campfire kits (a rarity on campsites now), washing up equipment, wheelbarrows to help load/unload your car, the duckboards as well so that when our tent acquired a moat we could get out... etc etc We would like to thank you, and your lovely wife, for all your help and assistance in getting us set up when we arrived, as well as all the helpful 'reading' material situated around the washing up/shower/loo areas - have to say it made me laugh!
