Portobello Market, The famous antiques and flea market takes place on the Portobello Rd in Notting Hill every Saturday.
Portobello Road is a narrow street in the middle of Notting Hill on which Portobello Market has been held since 1837. It is internationally known for its second hand and antique market stalls and is one of the most visited tourist sites in London. It is remembered from the films ‘Bed Knobs and Broomsticks’ and ‘Notting Hill’.
The renowned Portobello Antiques and Flea Market in Portobello Rd, Notting Hill takes place every Saturday although there are also stalls from Monday-Friday. Running from Chepstow Villas to just under the Westway. Notting Hill in Kensington & Chelsea, is a rich, vibrant part of London that oozes pleasure and entertainment. Portobello Market is not just a street market, it offers a wide range of small independent, unique shops and there is no shortage of pubs and restaurants.
On Saturdays, at the Notting Hill end there are over 2,000 stalls selling antiques, jewellery, silverware and collectables. In addition to the antique stalls there are a host of galleries, arcades and shops to accommodate the flocks of visitors and tourists. This area also boasts many cafes, bars, pubs and restaurants. Further down the hill there are fruit and vegetable stalls. Under the Westway is a large flea market offering second-hand clothes, books, jewellery and records.
An information booth is open on Saturdays, at the junction of Portobello Raod and Westbourne Grove.

Visitors are advised to travel by public transport as there are few parking spaces, especially on Saturdays.
Coach operators should set down and pick up at Notting Hill Gate and drivers should not attempt to travel into Portobello Road.
The market is closed on UK Bank Holidays, Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
Buses: 328, 70, 52, 31, 28, 27, 23,12 and 7 all stop close to Portobello Road.
Tubes: Notting Hill Gate which is on the Central, Circle and District Lines. Ladbroke Grove which is on the Hammersmith and City Line is also near to Portobello Road.
