The Jersey Rugby Football Club is continuing to evolve as an increasingly significant social and sporting hub for the Island community and the 1st XV are enjoying a rich vein of success in having won National League 1.in 2011/12 and promotion into the Championship for 2012/13
The history of the Jersey Rugby Football Club stretches back to 1879 when rugby was first played in the island. The club acquired their existing ground at St.Peter's in 1961 and since then the club has not looked back. The facilities have benefited from regular development and improvement and the 1st XV has gained successive promotions over the last three seasons and now plays in the RFU Campionship. At the other end of the age spectrum, the number of young players who train each Sunday morning with the JRFC Acadamy has increased to over 500 strong.
Jersey Rugby Football Club (JRFC) is affiliated to the Hampshire Rugby Football Union and has four senior sides:

The 1st XV plays in the Championship (2012/13)

The 2nd XV plays friendlies against Mainland teams and also competes in the Jersey Rugby Association League against the three other Jersey clubs (Jersey United Banks RFC, Pentagon Beeches and Les Quennevais Lydian Lions) and two sides from Guernsey (Guernsey 2nd XV and St Jacques).

The Youth XV play in the National Colts' cup.

The over 35's (The Wanderers) play friendlies against the other Channel Island sides as well as visiting Veterans' teams.
JRFC Academy
The Academy has twelve squads, running from U7's to U17's. The U14's, U15's and U16's all play in the Hampshire Division 1 leagues for their respective age groups. Each squad has a manager, a lead coach, support coaches and helpers.

Function Rooms
The first floor of the JRFC Clubroom consists of a large function room with a bar and dance floor that can be divided for smaller functions. The room can be booked for private functions such as birthdays and wedding receptions - please contact the Club manager, Sean Dunne on 499929 for all enquiries.

What else would you rather be doing on a Saturday afternoon? A great atmosphere to be found, plenty of refreshments and facilities. When traveling to follow the team at away matches, you always get a friendly chat after the match. Here's to many more afternoons banging the hoardings at St Peters.
A team really worth getting behind - exciting to watch and a great atmosphere for all spectators. JRFC putting Jersey on the map and opening doors to all parts of the UK - a great asset to the Island.
