I was referred to Riverside by the co-op pharmacy so I obtained the number, called & listened the the message which says no appointment necessary, showed up and they asked if it was illness or injury and told me it was appointment only, without knowing what I was there for. I was told I could fill out a form and someone might call me back to come back later. the receptionist used quite a nasty tone of voice so I left quite unhappy. I suggest they change their answerphone message and their receptionist!
I visited the Riverside Clinic yesterday with my partner who we thought had a nasty chest infection, feeling rough and we weren't sure what to do. We waited in the queue at reception only to be told (before hearing what the problem was) that it is appointments only. Otherwise you had to complete a form and wait over 2 hours so we walked away. After reading up on the clinic I think we made a mistake going there as it is for sprains etc so it seems from the things listed above but it is 'appointment only', not as stated above. We were told that we should have rung our doctors surgery (even though they are closed bank holidays) and listened to the recorded message. Lesson learnt - thanks for nothing Riverside!
excellent staff; great advise; very efficient treatment; very sensible plan for the treatment of my injury.I cannot speak highly enough of the Riverside walk-in clinic in Ipswich. PLEASE KEEP THIS FACILITY OPEN.
I visited the riverside on 5/11/2011 a piece of a firework went in my eye, the treatment i received was superb, the nurse was very patient with me as she had to put some dye in my eye and i am not good with that sort of thing. i believe the nurses name was nurse harvey, some people say that nurses dont care any more about their patients but nurse Harvey certainly showed that she did care and explained everything to me, i received prompt professional care, thank you so much it was much appreciated.Steve B
I wish to record my gratitude and appreciation for the excellent treatment accorded to my daughter Seshnie Taylor on Sunday, 10 April 2011 at about 6pm. She had an abraision involving her ankle in the region of her Achilles tendon. I am a physician who works in Durban and naturally we were very worried. The nurse practitioner who saw to my daughter could not have been better. She was empathetic, concerned, kind and humane in the best traditions of our profession of medicine. She changed the antibiotic from flucloxacillin to augmentin TDS and by the time the course of therapy was finished my daughter's problem was over.Seshnie reports that she now no longer has any residual pain and is able to run and exercise as she normally does. She is a student at Nottingham university and studies French and Chinese. Thanks once againDr Deenadayalan A. They saved my life. I had been turned away from an Essex hospital with a paracetamol, I went to Riverside and they diagnosed a gangrenous ruptured appendix, I went straight into surgery at Heath Road, otherwise I would have died. superb
My daughter took me to Riverside on Friday morning really against my will, but I obviously needed to be there as I'd scaulded my arm and hand. I have to say they took me through as soon as I got there did everything to help me with the pain put stuff on my burns basically did everything for me that they could do and more. The staff were great kind, chatty, just what you need when you are feeling an idiot as it was me who poured a coffee over myself they must really think some of us are really numb nuts but they never show it. Bless them
What a great service! I have taken the children to Riverside Clinic on a couple of occasions and we are always offered friendly, helpful advice. A great resource for the community and thouroughly recommended.
I have made use of the Riverside Clinic on several occasions, generally for things that donʼt warrant going to A&E but need a medical opinion. The last time I went was this morning, as I managed to fall over last night and injury my ankle. They open around 8am and I got there by about 8.30, by 8.45 I had been seen and was awaiting X-Ray which are available between 10am and 8.30pm.Got into X-Ray around 1005 as there were some people from the ngiht before who were booked in first thing, and had the scans up within 5-10 minutes of being zapped. Luckily I didnʼt need plaster casting but the advice was second to none, and the staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly.I wouldnʼt hesitate to go back with any minor injury, and would definitely recommend the Riverside to friends and family.
