i have kept my Horse there on and off due to school term times, i'm very fortunate that Bylam is connected to my school, because my horse comes to school with me, and i am stuck at school i know my horse is in very trustworthy and loving care, they love all the horses as if they were there own, and there is a great team feel about the yard, i have also found that it is very flexible about when i can bring my horse over, and when i can school, the facilities are very good with a good set of jumps for the summer, and the menage is very safe, especially if you fall off a lot you won't hit any wooden fencing! The fields where the horses are kept never lack grass as there is very balanced rotation of fields. i find this is a very friendly yard, where i would recommend highly! Thank you for such a great service! and especially all the training and weekends you have spent with the school team!
I moved my horse to Bylam Livery Stables at the beginning of January 2010, where I have found everyone to be genuinely friendly and helpful from the start. The facilities are good and in a great location for hacking, Caroline manages the yard very consistently and professionally, yet treats all the horses and owners as though they are special regardless of their ability or background. With her expert knowledge she is always ready to help and encourage. Taking time out from her competition team, Caroline also supports the novice and nervous riders and owners without transport like me, by taking us to local shows and activities we otherwise wouldn't get to participate in. It's a great place for my horse to be and is also great value for money for me - I couldn't ask for much more from a livery yard!
I would like to thank Caroline and Bylam Livery Stables for giving me so much help recently with Katie. Though I'm not a full time livery there (I'd love to be!) I have been made to feel so welcome on my 'holidays' :0) My friend Emma also brought her horse here for a week's holiday and we have had the best week possible. Caroline has been brilliant with all her encouragement and it has been fab to go out in the lorry and do things. The facilities have been fantastic. Katie did her first ever showjumping course there and Caroline has taken us out for our first ever cross country schooling. It hasn't all been easy for me and Katie, especially after I sadly lost my last horse Rufus, but Caroline has been so sympathetic and helpful and I'm not sure I could have stuck with it all if it wasn't for her. She seems to go out of her way to help people - even if they're not there full time. Her family and the other liveries have also been lovely. So thank you guys for everything. xx
I had the pleasure of working at Bylam for two and a half years, during which time i saw it grow from a caring small establishment to a professional yard. As a BHSAI my standards are high, and this yard ticked all the boxes, with the quality of care towards the horses, and the friendly advice and teaching for the clients being second to none. If you want a first class service but at an affordable cost, and on a one to one approachable basis, this is the place to go!
I had my horse at Bylam for many years and have watched it grow and develope in to the exceptional establishment it is now. What ever level of riding you are at they will assist you and offer any help and advice needed (but are not pushy with it). The care of the horses is second to none, coupled with excellent hacking, a all weather (flood lit) arena, show jumps in the fields (Weather permitting), an annual show on site, ample grazing on a paddock rotation system, what more could you ask for?? I only wish I could find some where as good in York! Sniff sniff I miss you all soo much x
I have been at bylam livery since april this year , so iʼm still very new to the yard compared to the others , but everyone has been great and really friendly since day one . caroline is the most friendlyest and caring person you could ever meet , she cares for each and every horse as if it was her own , wether it is the smallest pony or the largest horse , she also has the time of day for everyone , always about to lend a helping hand or a shoulder to cry on if it all goes wrong . The yard is well kept with improvments happening every day , the school is outstanding and the grazing is super . the trips that are held to local shows are fantastic and i know that if i had not of moved to this yard i would never got to go to any shows this year . The help and advice that i have recived from caroline has help me alot , i feel that without the help from caroline i would of never of taken the plunge to buy another pony , but i feel so at home a bylam livery that i could never of imagened taking a new pony anywhere else . this is the best yard for anyone who loves being with horses from novice to experianced . so come and give us a look , you wont be disappointed
We spent 3 years at Bylam Livery Stables until we moved due to change in circumstances. During the time we were at Bylam we went from complete novices to what I hope are now competent horse owners! We have done this as a result of the support, guidance and knowledge that we gained from Caroline the yard manager. Form our first tentative outing to a local show to now keeping our pony at DIY livery and going it alone she has been there for us! Whether offering advise and help with show turn out, transport to local events, lessons, feeding tips or help with treating minor ailments she has always been happy to help! I would recommend this yard as it offers facilities from the entry level novice horse owner to the more competitive types. It has access to lovely rides out and has a beautiful new flood lit ménage and their Annual Show offers a great day and something for everyone!
Bylams is a beautifully run yard(but not pernickity)with excellent stables grazing and facilities All the horses are so mellow and happy, and everyone is so friendly. Caroline is a fantastic teacher, and is always there for expert advice and help if you want it. We all pile into her 6 horse lorry for shows etc. I have had my pony there for 4 years and I wouldnʼt go anywhere else. Hurry! only a few stable left!
I have had my horse at Bylam for a few years now and the facilities have grown exceptionally. The instructorʼs lessons are fantastic value for money and are great confidence givers for both, the more or less experienced rider. The other horse owners/loaners are very friendly and we all enjoy going out for hacks (especially as we are close to Harkstead beach!)and shows together.I would truly recommend Bylam if you are a happy hacker, just taking up riding or enjoy competing at local and regional shows.
