If you have never visited the Cromwell Museum in Huntingdon before, then there is good reason to now with the current exhibition that celebrates the first ever recording of the Cromwell Symphony.
It was written in 1905 by Rutland Boughton who is little known now, but in his day he was a well regarded composer.
The exhibition has all the background information on the symphony as you would expect, plus copies of Boughton’s score. The BBC Symphony Orchestra has made a recording, and copies are on sale at the museum.
Entrance to the exhibition is free, and it runs until 29th July 2007
