BAKE OFF STARS LAUNCH NEW SCISSETT SHOW HOMES

THERE wasn’t just one showstopper but two, when popular Bake Off contestants Val Stones and Louise Williams helped launch Langley Grange’s brand-new show homes, in Scissett.

The delightful duo, a hit with viewers in Series 7, put on their pinnies and created a few festive treats for the special event to unveil the beautifully-furnished Ludlow and Oxford styles at Redrow’s Wakefield Road development.

And as the tasty breads and cakes rose in the state-of-the-art ovens offered in Redrow’s fully-fitted kitchens, so too did interest in the rest of the Langley Grange homes – with those who viewed them declaring them ‘done to perfection’.

“Val and Louise are now regular visitors to Redrow home events,” said Patsy Aicken, sales director for Redrow Homes (Yorkshire). “Their culinary skills are perfect for showing off the fabulous kitchens and appliances that are offered in all of our homes and, of course, visitors love the chance to share the secrets of two former Great British Bake Off stars - and, of course, their fabulous creations!

“The Langley Grange event was well attended with plenty of prospective home-owners taking the opportunity to enjoy an interesting afternoon and take a tour around our two new show homes.”

Among the surprise visitors was 2018 GBBO “best dressed” contestant Karen Wright, who lives in West Yorkshire and popped along to say “hi” to Val and Louise. She later took to Twitter to share her meet-up.

Patsy added: “We are confident that some of those who viewed on the day will be cooking up treats for their own friends and family in a similar kitchen very soon – and indeed, the next three people to reserve a home will receive a free copy of Yorkshire born Val’s recipe book ‘The Cake Whisperer – 52 recipes to bake with love’.”

The Scissett homes collection will offer two, three and four-bedroom homes, with current prices from £192,950 for a two-bedroom Ledbury mews.

The semi-detached Ludlow, available from £249,950, is a perfect example of how Redrow makes the most of space to create lovely homes that people long to live in. With a luxury not often seen in a three-bedroom property, the Ludlow has an open-plan kitchen and dining area, together with a separate lounge, a handy laundry space and downstairs cloakroom.

The four-bedroom Oxford home is a traditionally-crafted, bay-fronted detached home boasting a modern open-plan kitchen and dining area, and elegant lounge.

All four of its bedrooms are generously sized and, like the Ludlow, the master bedroom benefits from an en-suite.
