Pennthorpe School has an academic record that is second to none. For many years now, every student has passed to their first choice secondary school in the Horsham area and in addition to these successes, an average of eight scholarships of all kinds have been won by students from the school. These have been for music, computing and all-round prowess as well as the purely academic aspects of their education.

The school, however, prides itself on bringing out the best in all its students, whatever their ability. Whether through one-to-one learning support by specialist teachers or extending children in our Accelerated Learning Course for the most able academic student, Pennthorpe School aims to bring out the full academic potential of every individual child.

We aim to give every child the best opportunity to shine, both inside and out of the classroom. Music and drama both feature strongly at Pennthorpe, and its sports teaching and facilities are outstanding; the Horsham area school is proud to have been awarded the prestigious Gold Award by Sport England for the second time in succession.

Pennthorpe School has one of the most extensive after-school activity and education programmes around, with everything from computers, judo and cookery to horse riding, fencing and climbing (the school has it's own own climbing wall). Children can stay at school until 7pm if necessary; great for children eager for new challenges, and great for busy working parents!
