We (3 adults) arrived less than 40min before closing, but decided to go ahead with the tour. We were told it would be a bit of a rush and we were the only ones there. The guide and narrator was really excellent. We were quite engrossed all the time. I could go on. Worth every penny. Can't recomment enough.

No matter how well you think you know the Museum and however many times you've visited, there's always something new to discover. It's staffed and maintained almost entirely by volunteers, and a friendlier place you can't imagine. If you're using one of the nearby public car-parks, make sure you pay for at least 3 hours!

Unexpected and fascinating insight into the lives and education of school children and their teachers over the last two hundred years; being in the classrooms is like being whooshed back in time; you can see and feel the difference.

A school museum in historic buildings including the great monitorial schoolroom for 300 pupils and their one Master, the very beginnings of education for everyone. A great place for everyone, especially young people, parents and grandparents, to visit. Lots to see, to try out and to talk about together. Always a warm welcome from those who look after the Museum and help to make your visit memorable.
