The Hitchin Town Action Group (HTAG), made up of Hitchin Forum, Hitchin Society and Hitchin Historical Society (with support from Hitchin Initiative) has two meetings on Saturday 17 January at the Sun Hotel to share ideas on the latest plans from North Herts District Council.
This is the first draft of NHDC's Local Plan, available at:

It will determine how much and where housing will be built up to 2031, the type and quality of housing and employment, and the ways in which supporting provision will be made while protecting the quality of the environment.
HTAG has concerns about several of the issues in the Local Plan, "not least that Hitchin's distinctive character/opportunities/needs are not appropriately recognised or adequately addressed".
The meetings are:
Saturday 17th January at The Sun Hotel ballroom
11.00 to 12.30 and 14.00 to 15.30.
The meetings will follow the same format. There will be opportunity to ask questions and talk informally.
