It's just been announced that there will be NO weekend and evening parking charges in Hitchin. That's despite a suggestion from NHDC of this great(!) idea.
It's only thanks to a lot of people signing a petition and writing letters. Hitchin Bid say on their Facebook page: "The Hitchin voice was most definitely heard within NHDC and the result is a shining example of the power of community to effect change."
