To celebrate the UN International Day of Peace on Sunday 21 September, The George in Bucklersbury is hosting a musical extravaganza. Battle of the Buskers runs from noon to 3pm and you'll be able to donate in the name of your favourite to end up with a winner!

Billed as the biggest peace party on the planet, the day aims to spread peace by individuals' small actions.

In 2001, a resolution made 21 September an annual day of non-violence and cease-fire. It is celebrated in over 195 countries to date and is observed and supported by many organizations, including Peace One Day, Pathways to Peace, The Pem Rawat Foundation and many more.

We can only hope that this one day might see a few steps closer to peace around the world and it's great that one of our Hitchin pubs and many of our talented local musicians are doing their bit.
