lovely little pub serving traditional food including a Sunday carvery. We were staying at the Travel lodge just up the road and found the pub by luck as it was situated near a venue for a wedding we were to attend. All the staff were so friendly and helpfull, especially to our little shih tzu dog (Darby) who they allowed in the bar and one of the dining rooms due to it being too hot to stay in the car or outside in their garden area. Even to the extent of giving him his own bucket of water to drink. 5 stars just for this kindness alone. We went back again 2 days later with some more of the family for a lunch time meal this time and it was still as good as the first visit. very recommended, will definately go for more meals when visiting family in stevenage. thanking them all at The Bucks Head again.

Me and my family have been to the Bucks Head on more than one occasion and felt that it was appropriate to say how great a time we have had every time we've been. The staff and service was always very friendly. The food is always a winner at the Bucks Head and my plate is always cleared!! In the Summer it is always a joy as there is plenty of room outside for a relaxing drink and for the kids to spend hours playing on the wooden apparatus! Would recommend the Bucks Head to family and friends. Well done to you all.

Angela and David have done an excellent job with the Buck's Head. Great food - especially the generous, top-quality carvery from noon till four on Sunday - and a range of fine beers served in a warm, friendly atmosphere. When the weather's fine you can relax and soak up the sun in the extensive garden, which includes a play area for the kids and four (?) rinks for petanque - perhaps France's greatest contribution to free outdoor fun. Give the Buck's Head a go. You won't be disappointed.

I've been drinking in the Bucks Head since i was 14, mind you it was only coke cola then. Now i'm old enough to drink the fine displays of drink available at the pub. Not really a bitter drinker but have tried some of the guest ale's and have really enjoyed them. Atmosphere is great and there's always a friendly face to talk to. Summers coming so why not bring the kids along and let them play on the kids play area while you enjoy the sun. Why not sit out and try the food available. It's very enjoyable and the carvery is amazing. Also live bands play on a Friday night which is great fun. Even if your not a local you will be made to feel welcome. Very Cheery land-lady and the landlords ok too. Bar staff and chef also very freindly.

The Bucks Head is a lovely traditional village pub. My Grandfather and Father have been drinking & socialising here like clockwork for many years. We have always felt welcome as a family, we're very proud to support Dave and Angela. The sun terrace out the back is a particularly good spot in the summer, enjoyed with delicious prawn sandwiches and bottle of sauvignon blanc! Always a friendly atmosphere.

I am so pleased and proud to be able to feature The Buck Head on thebestofhitchin. My wife and I used to meet there of a lunchtime when we were courting, sitting in the window seat with a cheese toasty and a cheesy grin (ahh). It's nice to see that the same bench now has a cushioned cover though. Well done Angela and David, i would highly recommend this cozy pub for a light bite or a full Sunday Roast from the carvery, all the very 'best' Keith
