Becoming a Foster Carer
SWAN Fostering is looking for people who want to make a positive difference to a child's life. As well as providing a child with a safe, secure environment, it is also important that their emotional, physical, cultural and linguistic needs are being met.

Therefore, it takes approximately 8 months to become a carer for SWAN Fostering, during which there will be full training tailored to the capabilities of the individual foster carer, assessments, referencing and a home study to determine your family's dynamics and look at the needs of any existing children.
If, during this process, you feel that fostering isn't for you, you are free to leave at any time.
