We had an excellent lunch at Redcoats Farmhouse Hotel & Restaurant on 25th February. It was my 65th Birthday and my daughter came with our grandchildren - 2 years old and 8 weeks old. The hotel staff were so friendly and helpful - it was a pleasure.

We have lunched, dined and had our wedding breakfast at Redcoats for in excess of 22 years. They never fail to deliver. The addition of lunch on Saturday makes the experience complete. Thank you.

Redcoats is a restaurant & hotel in a beautiful bit of countryside just outside Hitchin. I've always enjoyed eating there, particularly in their sunny conservatory, but I've just been reminded of how nice a place it is to visit as we went for lunch last sunday.

It's just a perfect combination of exceptionally good food, attentive, friendly staff and a lovely setting. You do have to book early though as it's popular....

We wanted to say the biggest thank you for al of your hard work and help. Everyone who stayed over absolutely loved the hotel with beautiful rooms, fantastic staff and a warm welcoming atmosphere. The breakfast was hearty, just what we all needed after a great night. Liz, a special thanks for accomodating all our demands and to the big boss for letting my dad prop the bar up into the early hours.

I really should do the decent thing and recommend the other fine eateries in and around Hitchin (I run a little spot on the corner of Walsworth & Verulam Roads, 01462 456 111 to book!)

Redcoats is an impossibly old farmhouse inbetween Hitchin and Stevenage, and has a fine restaurant and Hotel rooms as well which I'm told are very good (I've not stayed over) The restaurant is very good, quite a traditional British menu, and there is normally a proper fire in each room - the place is a rabbit warren of rooms off one another, around a central conservatory area. I've been for evening dates with my wife, and more recently with my loud two-year old for Sunday lunch, both times very different, but very good. Proper old-school wine list as well.

I have eaten at The Redcoats many times with my friends and family, as well as using the venue to host my mother’s wake.
The service is always fantastic! You are made to feel welcome and looked after as soon as you walk in the door, and all the team at redcoats are very friendly but at the same time professional. The food is exceptional and the choice of wine is great, and they have the knowledge to always recommend if required. The team at redcoats are very adaptable and will always try to accommodate customer requests, in order to make your experience as good as it can be. They work to high standards and, although they are not a ‘cheap’ restaurant, they really do deliver value for money.

The customer experience is second to none. Redcoats may be seen by some as a place to go for a treat, but it is very reasonable for everyday occurrences like meeting friends for coffee, or afternoon tea and cake, as well as special occasions like a night away from home, or a family meal in the private dining room.
