I needed some old carpet to line a pond last year... and Charles Wilson came up trumps and found me the carpet I needed (I wanted nylon and not wool !) Within a few days and it was ready for me to collect and FREE ! They also do very nice NEW carpets.. not free though ;) Very helpful and excellent service ...and great re-cycling !! Maxine

Approached Charles Wilson Carpets when a well-known high street name refused to move our upright piano if they were to fit a carpet. CWC sourced the same carpet that we wanted and provided that essential extra piano move (performed by the partners themselves). They also reused some of the old carpet in a bedroom for us. This is a family run firm. Service is prompt, friendly and efficient. Unlike a nearby national chain they don't expect you to pay cash to a fitter of whom you have no knowledge. Fitter was very pleasant and did a very good job. We'll go back.

I have been delighted with the excellent service recently provided by this company. When I found my wool carpet had been eaten by moths in the spare bedroom, Adam gave me a good quotation for a replacement and had it laid within a week, and also kindly moved the furniture out of the room and back, something I could not manage on my own.Certain a firm to use!

We have just had a wooden floor fitted by Charles Wilson. The service was excellent from first contact to final fitting. There was a delay in obtaining the flooring from the supplier but we were kept well informed throughout the process. We were even offered an alternative product that could be supplied immediately. This was a thoughtful offer but we decided to wait. I would highly recommend this company.

When fitting the carpets 2 fitters were sent in order to move furniture as they were fitting carpet in my elderly mother's flat and she was unable to move the furniture herself. When I was looking for a new carpet for my stairs Charles Wilson were there to give me really excellant advice. They were extremely helpful explaining which type of carpet would be most suitable. They had plenty of diiferent styles and colours and were more than happy for me to take some swatches home in order to help me to decide the right colour. They were quick and efficient when they measured up and over all the service was very personable. I have used them several times now and would definately reccomend them for their expertize and personal approach.
Charles Wilson is always consistently cheaper than many national chain carpet warehouse in my experience. What a large chain will get ordered in for you, CW have in stock, there and then, and it's a bit old fashioned, but they send you an invoice after the work is done, normally printed on the best watermarked velum parchment!
We used Charles Wilson carpets to fit carpet and wood flooring in our new home. I can honestly say that they have got the best customer services skills that I have ever come across! All the staff were extremely knowledgeable and helpful and there was no "hard sell." They took time to understand our needs and made some very useful suggestions. The finished result is a beautiful wooden floor and carpet that we are really delighted with. I would highly recommend them.
Once again, we have had excellent service from all at Charles Wilson Carpets. Having called CWC one afternoon with an urgent need for some new carpets Adam was round with the mobile shop the next morning. I didn't need to 'browse the store' however, as he had already assessed what may be the best choice for us; I have to say it was perfect and saved me a lot of time! Great professional delivery of service by courteous and efficient staff
We bought our first carpet from Charles Wilson Carpets about thirty years ago, the most recent within the last few months. The firm is small and family-run, and everyone involved is knowledgeable, reliable and friendly. Fussy customers who can't make up their minds are treated with endless patience. I really can't imagine buying a carpet from anyone else.
Went to Charles Wilson as we had used them years ago and we wanted a new bedroom and stair carpet. Staff were very friendly and we chose a very reasonably priced pure wool carpet. Unfortunately it was not in stock so had to be ordered and there was a 6 week wait. We agreed to this, but just two days before fitting Charles Wilson rang us to say supplier having problems getting this carpet and it would be another two week wait. With Charles Wilson help (Helen) we decided to choose another very similar carpet. As we had to wait so long previously Helen suggested she called the supplier to ensure carpet was in stock. Luckily it was and the carpet was laid two days later. Great service and thank you for Helen for helping us sort this out. Carpet layer Keith was polite and friendly and did a beautiful job. After such a good service previously we went back to CW for our new bedroom carpet. Once again, we are completely delighted by the service we have received and the result. Keith did a fabulous job on the day, swift and extremely helpful. The carpet was a great choice (thanks Adam & Helen for your advice) and funnily enough, above all we LOVE the Axfelt Underlay! If you live in the Hitchin area don't go to some faceless corporate warehouse in Stevenage where they work out the "extra" discount like they are doing you a favour. This lot just come round, have a look, give you a price (no more expensive than the other lot but without the smarm), agree an installation date and fit it. Quality product fitted properly, what more do you want?
I was delighted with the service we received from Adam and his team at Charles Wilson Carpets. We were looking to replace the existing carpet throughout Harwood Park Crematorium in Stevenage. The area concerned is exposed to a very high footfall. Therefore, expert advise was essential to ensure that the carpet selected was suitable for this purpose. This was provided by Adam, whose knowlegde and depth of experience was very reassuring. Harwood Park is open to members of the public for services and visits seven day a week. Therefore, in order to ensure minimum disruption, Adam dispatched a team of five fitters to the task. Consequently, the work was completed between 5pm Friday and 8am Monday with no disruption to our service whatsoever. The finished result is stunning!
