This is a great place to go for household and kitchen accessories. They sell all manor of things from vegetable pealers to glass wear and gifts.

As a local Painter and Decorator, Roydhouse Decorating always uses Brookers and if one of my customers wants to provide the paint for a job I recommend Brookers. They offer a terrific stock of paints and materials, and I have also used their colour matching service which is fantastic. Their staff are well trained, knowledgeable and polite.

There is no other paint supplier as good as Brookers.

I bought coal from Brookers on Saturday and managed to get it in the car (with a bit of help from Doug!), which kept us warm this weekend. Decided on a dumpy bag of logs,to be delivered today.

Well, it was delivered a short time ago and in the most sensible of places, so I am absolutely delighted. Could not have been better service. Clearly, someone used their brain and worked out how to do a good job.

If anyone needs a reason to use local businesses, there's one right there.

My first visit to Brookers on 4th September. Most impressed with range of products. Very helpful staff serving at the counter. Good layout of products visually. Opens at 7.30am but pity it closes as early ast 5pm. Late closing 2 days would be helpful. Will go back again definately.

I would just like to let you know how helpful Max Davis has been on your building yard trade counter over the last 2 weeks
He has provided information on products to help us make the original purchase and when we have been popping in and out getting additional things the person laying our drive has needed; he has been most helpful loading the car with me when there has been no-one available in the yard.
He really did go out of his way to be helpful and I wanted to make sure you knew how much I have appreciated his help.

I visited your store today for the first time, I was so impressed with the customer service received that I felt it necessary to email you., something I rarely do! What a refreshing change, at last great customer service does exist. I own and run a Wine bar in Letchworth so when (not very often) I see great team work I feel its good to compliment those involved. What would Hitchin do without Brookers?! They stock all those things you need to just pop out and get - like electrical bits, paints, garden things and you just can't get decent quality items of these anywhere else in town. The staff are knowledgeable and if the town shop can't help then their trade centre can with a vast array of plumbing, building and general maintenance goods.The number of years they have suceeded in business says it all, long may they continue!

We bought some of the 22mm Climaflex pipe lagging over Christmas as our outside pipes kept freezing. We couldn't get the larger sizes in any of the DIY stores and Brookers had 3 different sizes. Job Done!

I went into Brookers to see what I could do with my broken floor boards. The chap on the timber counter measured it and looked through the pine but nothing matched my 1950's boards. So he cut some ply down to the correct width size for me to carry away and replace my broken boards. Thanks very much.
