The theme for this year's Burbage Carnival "Television through the ages" seems to be proving very popular, with lots of really great ideas being talked about.

The date for the Carnival Prince & Princess competitions has been set for 27th March from 12.00, at the garden room of the Red Lion Pub, Windsor St - Burbage. Application forms are available on the website:

A photo shoot will be arranged for the winners of the Carnival Prince & Princess competitions - with a prize being awarded to the winners. The portraits will be arranged by one of the areas best loved photographers Rebecca Dawe.

Other local companies have also come forward to sponsor the event with Jacques Bakes Cakes donating a present to all young entrants, Philip James have kindly agreed to dress  the Prince & Liney's Brides , a new shop opening soon in Hinckley will dressing the Princess as well as her hair and make-up.

Starting Mid May, will be a brand new Hinckley area version of The Apprentice – which will allow anyone with a flair for business to prove themselves against other contestants. Local company “The Holiday Lounge” have kindly agreed to donate a 4 STAR prize to the winners and are very excited to see what ideas come from the competition. For the carnival day -  Tallis Hire, have agreed  to supply FREE use of a Lorry, to anyone needing a float, please contact them direct to discuss your needs.
