Opening date for Uxbridge Lido
At last a date has been set for the long anticipated Uxbridge Lido
22nd February
Work began in 2006 by Hillingdon Council to improve the leisure facilities for the borough.
The only 50 metre Olympic - sized swimming pool to be built in London in 40 years!!
The new facility hopes to provide training opportunities for athletes and local residents.
As well as the new pool a 100 station gym, sports hall,dance studios, creche, sauna ans steam rooms will be avaliable. Including a cafe.
Once the site of the 1930’s open-air swimming pool, the area has been completely restored. The pool, which is grade II listed, is the only remaining example of a 12-sided 'star' swimming pool in the country.
Come on Hillingdon residents we should be really proud!!!
