Hidden gem of Hereford...well kinda

Since writing my feature about your favourite places to eat in Hereford, it gave me some inspiration to discover a new cafe in hereford.

My aunt and uncle came up to visit from Kent and I thought it would be a perfect opportunity to try somewhere new, so we went to Le MadeleineNestled in between the quaint little shops along Church street, this cafe is perfectly situated. My aunt, uncle, mum, dad and I went for lunch today.

With it's warm cream walls and parisian themed art this little French cafe feels a world away from rural hereford. Serving delicious fresh French inspired cuisine, you can enjoy a variety of dishes. It has a lovely courtyard garden with a canopy which is where we sat as unsurprisingly it was very busy.

I love it when you can order several dishes and share amongst you, this way you never have food envy and you try lots of things.

So we had; a cheese board with French bread, celery and an onion chutney; a charcuterie platter with hummus, guacamole, cornichons, sun dried tomatoes, olives and salad; and a smoked salmon pate with toast.

To follow we shared a salt caramel brownie, which was incredibly delicious, served with a smooth vanilla ice cream. And because it looked just too good we had a piece of the coffee and walnut cake, it was heavenly.

So if you're ever taking a trip into hereford and fancy a taste of Parisian cuisine meets charming cafe then go to Le Madeleine.

They also do an early evening supper on Wednesdays and Fridays and have a new home store open right next door.
