This week is our 5th Birthday. It's 5 years since we bought the franchise for thebestofhenleyonthames and what a 5 years it has been. In those 5 years we have got to know and work with some great people and fascinating businesses. We've discovered a vibrant business community in Henley-on-Thames that we didn't know existed. Since the beginning we have made it our policy to meet any business that wants to join us, to check them out and to make sure they know what we do and how we do it.
In November 2006 the first two businesses to join us were Newtown Car Services and Expert Fitness and we're proud to say that they are still members. Expert Fitness feature in the door drop that will be distributed to 12 000 homes in Henley, Sonning Common and the surrounding area this week. Since 2006 traffic to our website has grown and in September of this year we had over 20 000 visitors to our site. We regularly receive around 17 000 visitors. We have an extensive database of local businesses and over 1500 local people receive a newsletter from us once a week with news and offers from our members. We embraced social media in 2009 and we can be found on Twitter, facebook and LinkedIn.
It has been an interesting 5 years and we've enjoyed meeting and getting to know so many people. The economic climate of the last few years has given us an insight into how businesses manage to continue when the outlook is uncertain.
