Paul Mainds, Chief Executive and Trustee, River and Rowing Museum comments on the news that the London 2012 Olympic Flame will be coming to Henley:
“I am delighted that after a year of hard work from everyone in Henley, the Olympic Flame is coming to our community. The visit is a testament to our town’s sporting heritage, reflecting the Olympics of 1908 and 1948 when Henley had a starring role. Now the route has been revealed we look forward to planning how we can make the day an unforgettable occasion for everyone. We don’t know who the Torchbearers will be, but we have a few torches from Olympic Games past if anyone wants to practice!
