Good to see Henley businesses represented at #GBBF

We spent yesterday in London and finished off the day at the CAMRA Great British Beer Festival.  My family are enthusiatic Real Ale drinkers and it was decided that this would be a great way to celebrate one of our son's birthdays.  What I hadn't expected was to see so member of our bestofhenleyonthames members represented at the Beer Festival.

We expected to see Loddon Brewery based near Henley represented at the Festival and Hoppit was available for the thirsty visitors.  Thanks to Twitter we know that the team from there were at the Festival during the day for the special Brewery trade opening.  It seems they had a good afternoon sampling the beers.

There was a category for Bottled Beers that was sponsored by Hotel du Vin.   The Hotel du Vin Henley-on-Thames, sited in the former Brakspear's Brewery is also a member of thebestofhenleyonthames.  Some of the brewery's original features were incorporated in the hotel when it was converted and the bar sells Brakspear's beer which is now brewed elswhere in Oxfordshire.

The Great British Beer festival also chose Sue Ryder as their nominated Charity.  At thebestofhenleyonthames we also actively support the wonderful work done by this charity specifically at the Nettlebed Hospice near Henley.  In the imposing Joyce Grove, built in the early 20th Century, care is provided for life limiting conditions.  They run successful monthly sales and the dates can be found on our events page.

As one of the owners of thebestofhenleyonthames I use the blog to tell visitors about the businesses featured on our site. I also review businesses when I use them personally. As you can see I do use the businesses we feature.
