A free advice service is now available in Ripley to help local people with their housing problems.

Chesterfield Law Centre has been awarded legal aid funding to bring its housing advice service to our area, and has now set up a satellite office at the Amber Valley CVS premises on Market Place, Ripley.

If you're facing an issue such as homelessness or eviction, if you've got a problem with the return of your bond or deposit, if you're in rent arrears or want advice about under-occupation of your bedrooms under the new 'bedroom tax', this new service could be just what you are looking for.

John Duncan, chair of Chesterfield Law Centre’s management committee, said: “With this new legal aid contract and our other funding from Chesterfield Borough Council, Derbyshire County Council and North East Derbyshire District Council, we are in an extremely fortunate position to be able to continue to provide free specialist legal advice in housing across Derbyshire and specifically to the people of Ripley.”

People on low incomes anywhere in Derbyshire can also get free housing advice by ringing freephone 0800 707 6990.
