When many businesses are struggling and others are even having to close, there are some out there who are bucking the trend and driving their businesses forward.
Someone doing just that is Nigel Taft, owner of Belper's popular Amber Valeting Centre.
Nigel and his wife Lucy have been running their successful car wash and valeting business from a converted garage in Cambell Street in the town, but have now moved to bigger and better premises in Derwent Street.
The new premises were formally opened yesterday by the Mayor of Amber Valley, Cllr John Nelson in a short ceremony before the team got busy with the waiting cars.
The aptly named Amber House boasts an outdoor area for the car washing; several large undercover valeting bays capable of accomodating cars, vans and even caravans; a spacious, comfortable waiting room for customers; refreshments and even toilet facilities.
Rumours have been circulating about the town that Amber Valeting Centre had closed down, but today Nigel said:
"This move is a new chapter for Amber Valeting Centre. We have a really great feeling about Amber House, and want everyone to know that we are here and most definitely open for business. This move is a firm sign of my committment to Belper and to all my past and future customers. It signals our intention to grow our business to a new level and to keep the cars and vehicles of our local area looking spic and span for many years to come."
Whilst the trip to Belper is worth it for the level of expertise and service you'll get from Amber Valeting Centre, for those of us who aren't able to get to him, Nigel is more than happy to come to you, and will bring his fully equipped mobile valeting van to wherever you are, home or work.
