Since 2008, Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance has been serving the community in Heanor and Ripley

Based at East Midlands Airport, the charitably funded service flies around 900 missions each year, responding to local people’s emergencies when they need us most.

Regularly carrying Doctors on board, DLRAA can provide advanced medical care, effectively bringing the hospital to the scene of an accident.

At a cost of £1.7m a year to run, it’s remarkably easy to support your local air ambulance. On average, it costs just £1,400 per life-saving mission we attend, meaning it’s easy for you to help save a life.

Some of you will be more familiar with our A109 helicopter – which regularly lands at Ripley to refuel.

There are many ways to help your local Air Ambulance. You can help by holding your own fundraising events, donating a small amount of your time, or helping us recycle your unwanted items.

DLRAA are currently looking for volunteers within and around the Heanor and Ripley to help with local activities and events. TO find out more about how you can help, visit their website www.dlraa.co.uk or give them a call on 08454 130 999.
