With over 20 years experience in the restaurant trade between them, James Sallows & Juli Oldfield take great pride in their modern cuisine restaurant. The Ship Restaurant has an intimate and relaxing atmosphere and a contemporary feel, whilst being always warm and welcoming. And with the superb, freshly cooked food from James's open kitchen and excellent wines on offer, it's no wonder that this delightful restaurant, The Ship at Old Harwich, is set to become one of the Harwich and Manningtree area's favourite modern cuisine restaurants!
Using the best locally sourced meat, poultry and fish (from sustainable sources) and fresh, local fruit and vegetables, Juli & James are passionate about good food and have devised a mouthwatering menu which they change monthly, to take advantage of the best seasonal produce. Here's a 'small taster' of their freshly prepared and beautifully cooked food, to set your taste buds tingling:
Fish soup with rouille croutons and fresh parmesan
(a house speciality)
Skewers of honey and sesame chicken, rocket salad,
with a lime and ginger dressing
Hot and firey fishcakes, cooling cucumber salsa

black pepper butter, hand cut chips
Slow roast rolled belly of pork, spinach mash with an
organic cider, leek and grain mustard jus
