Born in York in 1950, Jake is based at the Dean Clough Gallery in Halifax.
Mostly known for his figurative work, Jake uses layers of oil paint to give
his paintings their distinct textures. We are pleased to be able to show
Jake’s 2009/10 project around the Northern Broadsides Theatres
rehearsals for Euripedes’ Medea. The exhibition also includes a series of
new works specially created by Jake about Hartlepool.
Hartlepool Art Gallery is open Tuesday to Saturday 10am-5pm, closed Sundays and Mondays and Bank Holidays.
