Catering Manager
Wheatley Hill Community Association (WHCA) is seeking to appoint a dynamic Catering Manager at its Greenhills Centre. This is a new post as a result of a successful application by WHCA to the East Durham LEADER Project which is funded by DEFRA and the European Union.
The post is funded until June 2011.
The Post
Applications are invited from individuals who are suitably qualified and experienced in the catering business and can demonstrate:
· An open, positive and engaging manner and are comfortable when interfacing with people as potential and existing customers, employees and volunteers.
· Proven ability to build, manage and maintain effective working relationships at all levels
· At least 3 years relevant contract catering experience, preferably covering hotel, restaurant and event catering.
· Experience of developing and using business models
· Proven experience of developing new and existing business opportunities
· Effective team working with proven ability to lead, manage and develop a team of staff and volunteers
· Extensive experience of marketing and sales techniques
· Drive and ability to transform WHCA’s catering business into a market leader
· Qualified to Level 4 or equivalent (Catering) and minimum Level 2 or equivalent (numeracy, literacy, IT)
The initial salary will be in the range of £18000 to £20000 pa. It is anticipated that the successful applicant will grow the business, increasing turnover, margin, and provide the business case for making the post permanent.
