Treating your mum on Mother’s Day doesn’t have to be expensive.  As a mom, a homemade card and spending quality time with my family, is all I need.  However, breakfast in bed, a massage, help with some household chores and time to relax wouldn’t go amiss either.

If you do plan on spending some money on your mum, Harrogate has several lovely cafes, restaurants and gourmet shops where you can go have a meal at or buy ingredients to prepare a nice meal for Mother’s Day.

Harrogate also has many stationary shops and card shops to either buy or make your own cards for Mother’s Day.

Harrogate is a beautiful town and there are several places you can go for a lovely walk with your mum on Mother’s Day, and weather permitting take a picnic too, so you can spend some quality time together.  Why buy flowers when there are so many to look at? Here are some places to visit in or near Harrogate with your mum on Mother's Day:

  • Valley Gardens

  • Mercer Gallery

  • Riverside, Knaresborough including Bebra Gardens

  • Riverside, Wetherby

  • Bolton Abbey

  • Brimham Rocks

  • RHS Harlow Carr

  • Harewood House Gardens

  • Fountains Abbey & Studley Royal Water Gardens

  • Himalayan Garden & Sculpture Park, Ripon

However you choose to celebrate, Happy Mother’s Day Harrogate.
