Who can tell me where is the best takeaway pizza in Harrogate?
I am looking for recommendations and testimonials for fantastic 12 inchers, deep pan or thin crust!
This blog has been prompted by a disappointing experience my wife had last week.
Our son had a few of his friends staying over Friday night and the easiest thing is of course to order some pizzas. One of the lads had a voucher for a well known pizza chain which is also the name of a popular pub game (no not Pizza Hut!)
My wife ordered several pizzas and said we would collect them. When she went round to the takeaway parlour, she was asked to key in her credit card pin in the usual way and was told it was £64.99
She queried this and a very rude older employee at the till wasn't even prepared to consider the possibility he was wrong and told my wife it was correct. She queried it again and refused to put her pin in and the server continued to be unpleasant embarassing my wife in front of other customers.
After a while, another more respectful guy took over and indeed confirmed after checking that the amount charged should have been nearer £45!) He apologised and my wife took the pizzas back home and they were soon devoured by the hungry teens (and in all fairness weren't bad, even if on the expensive side!)
A week later my wife was checking her bank statement and to her horror discovered that not only had the correct amount been taken, but also the incorrect amount of £64.99.and both transactions were within a minute of each other. We are not sure how this could have happened and neither was her Bank but it did ,so beware!!!!!
To their credit, when this was notified the pub game pizza people did reimburse but it meant another couple of phone calls and a trip back to the parlour.All in all an unpleasant experience ............so I am on a quest to find the best pizza takeaway in Harrogate/Knaresborough for both food and service. All blog posts and comments gratefully accepted.
Has anyone paid more than £120 for 7 pizzas???
