Wondering what to do to make pancake day special. Why not watch a pancake race or enter one. There are two great local pancake races planned for Tuesday 17th February this year.
For Ripon’s long standing traditional pancake race meet in the forecourt of the cathedral at 10.45 and wait for the Lenten bell to ring at 11. The pancake racers will race all the way to the top of Kirkgate. Everyone young and old in invited to join in – just go to Ripon Cathedral and sign in and you will be able to make up a team. Alternatively go along to cheer the racers along.
Alternatively you could support Autism Angels at Stockheld park who will be welcoming eager pancake racers from 11AM. The pancake races start at 12PM. You can even make a day of it as there is half price entry to those who register for the race.
