THE NEW PEEL2SAVE FUNDRAISING CARD
June 2011 saw the launch throughout the UK of a fantastic scheme which will raise thousands and thousands of pounds for charities , good causes and not for profit organisations.
This scheme is being run in the Harrogate area by Gary Bullock,a local Solicitor and Ailsa Haswell, a local charity worker and mum.
Gary says " Our aim is to help raise at least £50,000 in the next 12 months for local good causes, such as Sports Clubs, School PTA's, Rainbows, Scouts, Church Groups as well as the more recognised charities. We are also looking to help charities and good causes that do not always attract media attention but who do a fantastic job in raising awareness for their causes in these difficult times"
The Peel2Save scheme involves the printing and distribution of a card with 64 square spaces on it which folds up to a credit card size to fit in wallets and purses. The squares feature the logos and offers to the public of participating Harrogate businesses, for whom participation is totally free.
The cards will have offers from local restaurants, cafes,hairdressers etc totalling over £300 and will be sold on a sale/return basis by local good causes and charities for £10. "It is great for participating businesses who are prepared to help by making discounts for the card as they are helping the local commuinity raise funds and get free promotion and increased trade from local people." explained Ailsa.
"We already have some tremendous local businesses helping such as Weetons, the Royal Baths Chinese Restaurant, Saks Health and Beauty, Alberts Bar and Grill, Monkhouse Intersport, the Mujib Indian Restaurant, Pizza Express and many others. Our card is almost full now and we expect to print the first Harrogate card in mid August "
"Martin House Childrens Hospice have already agreed to sell the cards and we are so pleased to be able to help such a fantastic organisation raise much needed funds." explained Gary.
"We would love to hear from local Harrogate people who are linked with charities and good causes from Parent Teacher Associations through to Secretaries of Junior Football, Cricket , Rugby, Netball, Hockey and other Clubs and lesser known charities, as Peel2Save can help them all."
