Based in Woking near Guildford and opened to the public in 2007, The Lightbox is the perfect place to enjoy art and history, a wide range of events, talks, tours and workshops, or simply relax and a coffee, lunch or a pre-theatre dinner in our canalside bistro.
With some of the most exciting gallery spaces in the South East and home to interactive museum, 'Woking's Story', The Lightbox also gives families the opportunity to explore art, crafts, science and natural world, offering a huge selection of hands-on activities and displays.
Exhibitions
The Lightbox boasts two spacious galleries that play host to a huge variety of displays and exhibits that change on a monthly basis.
Exhibitions range from contemporary art by local and nationally renowned artists to displays showcasing works loaned from some of the major galleries and museums in the UK and overseas.
The Ingram Collection is a stunning private collection of modern and contemporary British Art, which is currently on long-term loan to The Lightbox by owner of Woking FC, Chris Ingram. Spanning almost 100 years and featuring a number of well-known, rare and sought after paintings and sculptures, it is your opportunity to share in Chris's enjoyment of this highly significant collection.

Explore the fascinating history of Woking at The Lightbox's museum, 'Woking's Story'.
Featuring interactive displays and oral history listening points, it is your opportunity to discover local people's personal memories of life in the town and how it has changed over the centuries.
