From the moment I met Gavin i felt relaxed. He is clearly very passionate about his work. Throughout the photoshoot Gavin guided me and knew how to create a fantastic photo without making me feel too nervous...and to make it even easier, he set up a mobile studio in my home to take the photo's!

Gavin is a great teacher of photography and really helped me develop my skills. He always hands out praise and suggests improvements and tricks that can be used to make the pictures even better and really 'pop'. Gavin managed to apply innovative methods to capture stunning results. The shoot lasted around an hour in a vacant outhouse during the Winter and this is all he needed to portray the band's style and tone perfectly. Not only did the finished photos, which have since been featured in press kits, websites, zines and album advertisements, look extremely professional and slick, but the band also got an insight into what Gavin was doing and why during the photoshoot, involving and interacting with the band members. The shoot was a great experience and has benefited Drones in their career so far by providing top-standard media to approach fans and industry figures with. Having won a really important award at the end of last year, I needed a photo of me (and it!) fast, in order to meet a magazine deadline the next day. I called Gavin on my way back from the event and he was on my doorstep later that afternoon, having rearranged his schedule to help me out. The award was engraved on glass, making the wording hard to pick out and Gavin tried every which way to stop reflections and all the related light issues. The result - a fabulous, relaxed shot that looks like it took 2 seconds... proof if ever you need it that the really good, clever stuff needs to look absolutely effortless. And what a nice guy too!
