Challengers is a fantastic organisation. Just a short visit to Challengers helps you realise what a huge difference the right equipment and support staff makes to their lives. Also to the lives of their parents who are able to enjoy quality time in the knowledge that their kids are being well looked after.
We realise how fortunate we have been in life and that it is our duty to support this incredibly important work in the local community. We are constantly amazed at the dedication and total commitment of the Challengers team.

As parents to a disabled child, we just want to put forward how much we value Challengers. Tom adores Challengers and is free to have a wonderful time with full support in a safe environment and caring, fun staff. I get the chance to have a break from Tom about once a month on a Saturday to go shopping with no kids or meet friends for lunch. This is invaluable to my sanity. Dad gets to look after Tom's little brother and they have a wonderful bonding time, or the three of us can all go out somewhere without having to focus on Tom's disability for a change. We are all really happy after a Challengers Day.
I really hope you are successful in your bid for new places, I can’t imagine a future without the support of Challengers.

The staff did an excellent job with our son despite his very challenging behaviour at times. He can’t tell us whether or not he enjoyed himself but I know he did – he was so excited in the car going there. The staff seemed enthusiastic, energetic and resourceful. I had the best break I’ve ever had and the chance for 2 days out with my other son. Thank you!

There is nothing locally for Bethannie to be able to attend and certainly nothing that can meet her needs like Disability Challengers

Life with a disabled child is far from easy, but Disability Challengers is there to play its part in making life more pleasurable, both for disabled children and for their families. There is a waiting list of 700 disabled children waiting to use their service – it’s that popular! Offering a day of fun for the children and respite for their families. It is hard to find places to take disabled children to ‘let off steam’ but Challengers provides the perfect, safe environment for disabled children and young people up to the age of 25. What’s more it gives parents a much-needed break from their caring responsibilities, and time to devote to their other children. For me, as a mother of a severely autistic son as well as two other children, Challengers has been a Godsend. And above all, I know my son loves going there, because although he has no speech, he always comes away with a smile.
