Disability Challengers – with play and youth centres in Guildford and Farnham, we have been one of the leading child-focused charities in Surrey for the past 30 years.
Established in 1979, Disability Challengers is a registered charity that is dedicated to providing fun, exciting and challenging play and leisure activities to disabled children and young adults in Guildford and the surrounding areas.
With play and youth centres in Guildford and Farnham and a range of community-based projects that run throughout the UK, Disability Challengers is one the leading child-focused charities in Surrey.
Our facilities are open to families, special schools, children's homes, hospitals and other organisations. Local charitable organisation, Disability Challengers does not set any geographical boundaries and children and young adults don't have to be on the disability register to enjoy our services.
Simply put, if a child can't access mainstream leisure, then they can join a Disability Challengers scheme, either in our Guildford or Farnham play and youth centres, or through a UK-based scheme.
Who and How Do We Support?
As one of the leading children's charities in Surrey, Disability Challengers supports any child with any impairment through our three schemes:
• Play (3 - 13 Years Old)
• Youth (13 - 18 Years Old)
• Young Adult (18 - 25 Years Old)
The charity encourages children to make free choices about the activities they take part in and the friends they make during their time at our Guildford or Farnham centres. There is no strict time table; activities are available to children throughout the day.
For the older children, our youth schemes are the perfect place to be teenagers. They will have the opportunity to make friends, try new things or simply hang out.
And our young adult schemes are designed to lend support and offer a programme of activities, providing a non-institutional, non-patronising environment that is appropriate to adults.
Local charity, Disability Challengers, understands the importance of play and childhood experience, and we are dedicated to ensuring that all children, no matter what their disability or impairment, should be able to experience the fun, joy and learning of play.
At every Disability Challengers play and youth scheme, there are plenty of qualified, caring staff, leaving you with total peace of mind that your child is in a safe, secure and fun environment.
